Twenty Tips to Manage Stress
- Physical activity - cycle, swim, walk.
- Practice deep breathing.
- Talk to someone you trust.
- Accept what you cannot change.
- Avoid self medication: Cigarettes, Alcohol, Tranquillisers, Coffee
- Get enough sleep. Be aware when you are tired and take steps to rest and refresh yourself.
- Take time out to play.
- Do something for others.
- Do jobs one at a time.
- Agree with someone for a change.
- Examine how you manage your time and set a timetable - don't overload it.
- Develop an absorbing hobby.
- If you are sick - don't try to pretend that you are not.
- Remember the answer lies with you.
- Eat sensibly: Fresh fruit and vegetables - Wholemeal bread and pasta - Wholegrain cereals - Cut down on fatty, sugary foods.
- Take time to relax daily.
